Our story

Poetic Threads. Bridging the world through art.

It started with a love of cloth. In 2010, our founder stepped into the world of fashion with one enduring question:
whose hands made this?

Those early years were spent learning — trunk shows across the United States, the Los Angeles Gift Show, Nevada fashion exhibitions, museum showcases, private events. Each one a lesson in what people feel when something is truly made.

2011. Swat Valley, Pakistan. The moment that changed everything.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region — one of the oldest centres of textile craft in the world — was struck by Taliban violence and devastating floods. Communities displaced. Markets collapsed. But the artisans were still there. Their knowledge, intact. What was broken was the bridge between their hands and the rest of the world.

We decided to build it.

What began in Pakistan and Afghanistan grew — through the old Silk Road corridors — into fair trade partnerships with master artisans across nearly eighteen countries. Embroiderers, weavers, natural dyers. Techniques passed from one generation to the next. Older than most nations.

In 2016, Poetic Threads found its home in Santa Fe, New Mexico — a city that understands, perhaps better than any in America, what it means when culture and craft are inseparable.

Seven years at the Santa Fe Folk Art Market. Seven years of bringing these stories into direct contact with people who feel their weight.

Before it finds a place in your home. Before it becomes part of your story. It begins in the hands of an artisan.

From the loom. To the needle. To the final stitch. Nothing rushed. Nothing mass-produced.

We don't simply sell craftsmanship. We help keep it alive.

Every piece carries a name, a place, and a tradition older than most nations. That is our promise.
